In 2019, Brighter Together hosted the first Women’s Leadership Summit in Antigua, Guatemala.  In partnership with Global Communities, Women Empowered (WE) program, Beauty Guides listened to the stories and experiences from women of Guatemala based WE groups and guest honoree speaker, and female activist, Zainab Salbi. This two-day summit focused on the ripple effect of impact women can have simply by coming together in community and uplifting one another through sharing our experiences and stories.

One of the greatest ‘ah-ha’ moments from all that attended was witnessing the confidence of each of these women. Despite having access to far less opportunity than women in North America, WE members work hard and stay determined to improve their lives for themselves, their families and their communities. 

The experiences of the incredible women of the WE program helped inspire Brighter Together Chapters in North America and other educational opportunities for women through Bright Ideas by Brighter Together. Currently, chapter programs are on pause as we explore more opportunities to reach more women outside of specific regions of North America.
